Job Title: Birth to Five Therapist

Position Summary:
The Birth to Five Therapist provides developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed, and relationship-based therapeutic services to children ages 0?5 and their families. Utilizing evidence-based practices, the therapist supports social-emotional development, addresses behavioral and mental health concerns, and strengthens the caregiver-child relationship. This position works closely with behavior coaches to support developmentally appropriate interventionism home. This position requires a deep understanding of early childhood development, attachment theory, and the impact of trauma on young children and families.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide individual, dyadic, and family therapy to children birth through age five and their caregivers.
- Conduct comprehensive developmental and mental health assessments using age-appropriate tools.
- Develop and implement individualized service plans (ISPs) in collaboration with caregivers and interdisciplinary team members.
- Utilize trauma-informed and evidence-based models such as Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), PCIT, TF-CBT (for young children), or other approved interventions.
- Support caregiver engagement and enhance parenting capacity through psychoeducation and reflective practice.
- Collaborate with pediatricians, early intervention providers, case managers, schools, and other community partners to support coordinated care.
- Participate in Child and Family Team (CFT) meetings, Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) meetings, or other system meetings as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with agency, state, and health plan standards.
- Participate in clinical supervision, peer consultation, and ongoing training in early childhood mental health best practices.
- Attend agency and community meetings related to early childhood systems and services.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or related behavioral health field.
- Licensed or license-eligible in the state of Arizona (LAC, LMSW, LAMFT, LPC, LCSW, LMFT).
- At least one year of experience working with children ages 0?5 and their families.
- Knowledge of infant/early childhood development, attachment, trauma, and family systems.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for home or community-based visits, if required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Experience or training in Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), DIR/Floortime, PCIT, or other early childhood modalities.
- Experience with AHCCCS documentation and service delivery standards.
- Familiarity with the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) or similar brain-based approaches.
- Experience in home-visiting or community-based therapy.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Office, clinic, home, or community-based settings depending on client and program needs.
- Requires sitting, standing, and driving for extended periods.
- Occasional evening hours to meet family needs.
