Neurosequential Model of Therapy Clinician - PT

Position Summary:

As an NMT Clinician you will have the opportunity to help clients and families have a neurodevelopmentally informed understanding of their child's current level of functioning. This biologically respectful approach is not a specific therapeutic intervention but a way to organize a child's history in a way that provides structure to their current service planning. Clinician will provide support to team during Child and Family Team meetings.

Essential Functions (duties):

  1. Conducts a comprehensive NMT metric assessment and makes treatment recommendations, summarizes primary presenting issues, and identifies child/family strengths.
  2. Reviews behavioral health documentation produced by BHT's and provides feedback to BHT staff when necessary.
  3. Develops interim service plans that identify the next steps taken after intake by the provider and person/family, and what issues are to be addressed for ongoing assessment.
  4. Provides effective crisis assessment including the following of program triage protocol, arranging for emergency psychiatric evaluation/hospitalization as indicated by protocol, provides for follow-up, normalizes situation, discusses options and handles situation calmly.
  5. If no behavioral health problem exists, refers client to an appropriate community resource.
  6. Performs duties with knowledge and skill in group processes, establishes group commitment to common goals, and establishes an environment of mutual respect and understanding.
  7. Performs duties using knowledge and skill in assessment and diagnosis utilizing DSM-IV criteria.
  8. Understands human development and family life cycle in children and families and demonstrates application of this knowledge in assessment and diagnosis.
  9. Conducts a full and ongoing assessment utilizing the program specific protocol.
  10. Engages the child/ family collaboratively in order to create safety and stability for each family member.
  11. Develops and implements successful trauma informed intervention.
  12. Plans for client treatment discharge/termination including establishing treatment plans.
  13. Interacts professionally, clearly and in a timely manner with internal and external customers, other community professionals including staffing meetings, providing consultation or advocacy representing OH as a trauma informed agency.
  14. Participates in in-service training and educational opportunities outside the agency as required and as time and resources permit.
  15. Provides effective client treatment with regular supervision.
  16. Provisions psychotherapy to individuals and families.
  17. Provides crisis management, including assessing and providing appropriate responses, handling the situation calmly.
  18. Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnostic and treatment services to all assigned clients including individual, group, and family therapy.
  19. Develop and implement treatment plans for all clients in compliance with agency and RBHA standards.
  20. Act as a consultant to team members in order to support therapeutic progress of the clients in treatment.
  21. Participate on Child and Family Teams for assigned clients.
  22. Non licensed staff needs to complete annual assessments within 24 hours of visit.
  23. Complete all required documentation and billing requirements accurately and in the assigned time frames.
  24. Provide coverage during Open Access as needed.
  25. Provide on call coverage as needed.
  26. Assist in actively assessing work area for non-compliance issues and notify supervisor in a timely manner to ensure follow up.
  27. All other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field of study with 3 years of behavioral health experience
  2. Master's degree preferred.
  3. Preferred license or license eligible.
  4. Must be NMT Phase I trained and have a minimum of an acceptable NMT Fidelity score.

Prerequisites:

  1. Must be 21 years of age.
  2. Possess an Arizona driver's license and state mandated auto insurance.
  3. Possess or be able to obtain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  4. Must be able to pass a 5-panel drug screen.
